What Not to Do

Avoid Cluttered and Distracting Backgrounds
This photo includes a passing truck, cars, signage, a hazard cone, and a tractor—all of which draw attention away from the subject. The harsh midday lighting creates shadows, and the palm tree visually "grows" out of the subject's head, making the composition less polished.

Avoid Bad Posing and Uneven Lighting
Slouched posture, stiff arms, and wide-angle distortion create an unflattering look. Harsh shadows, especially from direct sunlight, exaggerate features and cause squinting. Bright white clothing can also reflect too much light, blowing out details in photos. Aim for shade or golden hour for softer, more balanced results.
