Purpose of BYU–Hawaii Social Media
Brigham Young University–Hawaii maintains social media channels for the purpose of connecting with current students by highlighting campus events, featuring students, providing information, and helping students navigate university life. Through our pages, we hope to give viewers a better sense of BYU–Hawaii, its mission, values, and identity. The university’s intent is to use social media to provide valuable and consistent content that creates a relationship with our target audience.
University Affiliated Accounts
If a university department or group affiliated with the university (club, society, etc.) wishes to create a social media account, they must first register the account through University Communications by emailing socialmedia@byuh.edu with the request.
The following are university-approved platforms; Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Twitter. Accounts created on unapproved platforms cannot claim affiliation to the university through using the university name in its handle or name. They are also not allowed to use official university logos, marks, or the seal as a profile image.
If you have a new account or could use some help with your social media strategy, submit a request for the university's social media training.
